Collapsed Cleft at the Galmihorn

The receding glacier has also revealed some tressures here.

The day began promising with several pockets. But unfortunatly they had nothing in them. The pocket (in the right picture) was completely filled with chlorite sand.

On over 3000m above sea level I found a collapsed cleft. The rock there has really high iron content there, so all of the crystals had iron decking. But luckily the iron comes off with oxalic acid.

In the cleft (in the left) you see a Gwindel stuck between the rubble.

At the same spot about 2m to the right there was even another cleft, or rather a pocket, because it was significantly smaller. There wasn't much in it, but one beautiful smoky quartz. Just for that, it was totally worth it.

Buy the Smoky Quartz in the video in my Shop.

I previously left my backpack several 100m lower because I didnt wanna carry it all the way to the top. Now I had a problem. How can I carry the crystals. I had to get a little creative and when all my pockets where full, I put the rest in my shoes and even tied some with my laces.

Before and after oxalic acid
